Go Up Go Down

Hello friends! Today we found an incredibly large settlement. I counted more than fifty houses and about a dozen wells here. Unfortunately, this place is surveyed for a long time, but we still managed to find something. I present to you the most interesting of them.
I think the most valuable find here this bronze plate. It shows a rider on a horse. I find it hard to imagine what period it can be attributed. I have several versions, it could be the Byzantines, Slavs and Sarmatians. Maybe you know?
Another interesting find was a military uniform button of British Royal Artillery. Buttons like this were worn by both officers and men of the Royal Artillery during two periods, from 1833 to 1838 and from 1855 to 1873. The only difference between the Officer and Soldier buttons is the burnish: soldiers' ones usually look darker than the officers' but that’s very difficult to distinguish after all this time.
In the third picture we can see the Islamic Turkish token, made in the form of coins of Mahmoud 2nd (1808). Most likely it was part of the coin necklace.

Hi Antony

As always you have the ability to create jealousy with your finds. I have had a look at the photos that you posted but the last one (that would be number 7) there is a hole in the coin or what ever it is that was made with a point of some sort and a hammer, I should think that someone was wearing it at some time.

All the best Xavier

Thank you friends! Xavier, you're right, as always! This is really a part of jewelry or necklaces.

About 5 inches. And I've had cases where a modern tin can was deeper than Scythian arrowhead).

I was just wondering how much more you would find if you had a machine that could give you more depth? If you were to auction off some of your finds you could very easily get a better machine than the Ace250 and increase you finds.

Мне было просто интересно, сколько еще вы бы найти, если у вас была машина, которая может дать вам более подробно? Если бы вы были на аукцион некоторые из ваших находок можно очень легко получить лучшую машину, чем Ace250 и увеличить вы находит.

Frankly, I'm more interested in the historical value of my findings. Does not matter what kind of MD I have, the main thing is the location, choosing the right strategy, knowledge and a little luck. That's it.

That is true but at the same time with a good detector you will be able to preserve/safeguard much more and that would be great for the future generations to come.
