Go Up Go Down

Hi All! I finally got in the water at a swim beach about three hours from my home. Started slow but wound up with a pretty good day overall. I found 22 quarters, 19 dimes, 32 nickels and 56 pennies (129 coin targets), 2 stainless steel spinner rings, 3 silver rings, 1 silver earring and 4 costume rings. The silver rings cleaned up very well. Alas, no gold. You may note the number of nickels found, I was primarily looking for lower signals. That also produced 5 pull tabs. I passed up a lot of coins looking for the gold hits. Maybe next time. I was glad to find what I did although my wife was wore out waiting for me! Sure wish some of you guys lived closer to me to go with me. The fellowship would be great. I will try to post the pics, but I don't think they are sized right. If they don't come through I will redo tomorrow. My wife has made me an album, maybe I can post a link to that tomorrow. I am not that good on the computer, that's my wife's forte.Happy hunting to all! 38 fordpu.

Hi Xavier. I use a stainless steel long handle water scoop with 3/8 holes. It works great in sand and works well in harder material, a little slower in clay and pea gravel because of the holes. After I get a signal I place my left foot over the target and slide the scoop down my leg until it is at the rear of my foot. Then I dig until I retrieve the target. Usually requires one or two scoops. Yesterday the targets were extremely deep, some 14 to 16 inches, made for a lot of scooping. My arms and hands are sore this morning. If you need more info on the scoop or methods let me know. Thanks, 38fordpu.

Hi 38fordpu

Yes will be interesting to have a pic of it I often wondered about the retrieving part of the operation it's very easy when you're in one foot of water but there you're at what four feet? Can't really bent down to retrieve it now can you  Grin

I have never hunted in water. That sounds really cool. I would like to see how it's done.

In shallow water it's very easy as long as you have a water proof coil you step in and detect where you have a signal you dig with a small sive like tool but when you are waist deep it's another story.
