Here in Florida these fake pieces of eight are showing up in gift shops. I paid $.50 each for these to play a trick on a friend with. I won't be able to now since the cat is out of the bag. gambol

Some nice finds, and to find aftermarket Reale made my day looking at it.

lol, imagine somebody peppering the Ft. Pierce Florida strands with those things?  The unsuspecting Thunter would think he hit the Mother-load or something, only to find out that a Chinese Junk must have sunk there recently!  Grin

Nice finds none the less, so did you use the DFX & if so hows she work, and maybe you could clue me in on some of its features?

Cheers and appreciated,
Jim

Actually Jim I had the Etrac out that day.  As far as your question on the DFX goes the DFX can be a great machine to use in the field.  Many people seem to think it's complicated but it's only as rough as you make it for yourself.  Two very good books about the DFX are "Understanding the DFX" by Jimmy Sierra and "Digging deeper with the DFX" by Jeff Foster I believe.  These are great books to read about the DFX and explains quite a bit about the machine.  Above all just relax and have fun with it.  If you have any specific questions about the different features of the DFX feel free to PM me.  Also you can view some of my previous topics here on the forum of hunts I had while using the DFX and I even have a couple of youtube videos showing many of the finds that I made with the DFX.

Go Up Go Down

very much actually.  Great

Yea, I'm in the process of trying to figure out just what detector to grab for mainly dry/wet salt sand of the beaches of the mid-atlantic shores down to including the Florida beaches. Also, I'm narrowing the field down for a dedicated water machine as well.

I'm also deciding on an (general high performance machine) for coins and relics on land & in the parks, one that could also be used at the beach if desired...So, I'm thinking about the Whites MXT or the DFX, and what the differences are between them which would affect my choices given the venues I want to hunt in.

I'm sort of familiar with whats out there, but as you know in the multiple reviews of all of the top end makes & models, there is always much to be desired with reviews and capabilities stated by said owners that have weighted opinions sometimes. So to find a person that's familiar with many machines & there unique uses and capabilities is a rarity.

If you find time to maybe reply again here, I sure would appreciate your subjective as well as your objective findings & advice for what various machines I'm after, and any recommendations you may be able to afford me...

Cheers,
Jim

Jim

I would be happy to help with any advice but will probably just try to send you a PM with the info you requested.  Also another thing to think about is searching youtube for the videos of units you are interested in.  You can then see them in actionsometimes a picture or a video for that matter might just be worth a thousand words. and in that aspect
