Rider  speaking of posting some of my find, that would be cool.. like i said, i do not have a computer camera.  is there   special type of camera you use to be able to show a few of my finds?? i am the most computer illiterate person you will  ever meet .  i have been treasure hunting for about 25 years total...started out bottle hunting and bought a no name TR metal detector in the early 1980 s.  i have a beautiful 2.8 carat diamond ring that was part of one of thr caches i found years ago .  had it appraised back in 2001 ... $ 10,500.  i would not mind showing that on the website.  does wal-mart sell the type of camera that i woul need???

Hey tyler,
To answer your question I have found a few since I started(1972). The one in the picture came from a park along the river. Over the winter ice and high water had cut away at the bank and exposed some new ground. Find a area thats been used over time , like this park, started in 1850 by the union pacific railroad as a picnic grounds for their workers and then in 1964 given to the town for the towns use. The treasure is out there just waiting to be found, and I am sure you will find your share of it.

                      Good Luck

Silver Seeker, how deep were you picking these finds up?  I'm searching an old park and am still confused abit about the depth thing. Should my senstivity be cranked up, and do I use the 12" larger coil. I'm scanning using low sensitivity, 9" coil and finding coins, nothing too deep, maybe 4" or so...but am I missing out the deeper/older stuff with my settings?
Thanks,
Rich

Hm, to me I wouldn't set it that high.  You might miss out on some good items, in trashy areas such as parks etc.  Of course, lowering your sensitivity causes you to loss depth depending on your metal detector.  I learned this from Homefire, which has it posted in detecting gold topic.

Yes, so you are digging coins up at the low level that you said you were and probably were going over a lot of trash items without realizing it.  Detecting at jewelry mode actually causes your metal detector to penetrate the ground a few more inches than other modes.  You can try that out if it has that mode and see how it goes.

hi

by the way about the cameras go to walmart and buy one they have on display for exaple a sony cibershot or a name brand abnd the mega pixels or pixels it has the better the pictures.
for ex a camera with 7 pixels will have less detail than one with 12 pixels there alittle pricy but forget about that dont never sacrifice quality for money.

The name brands are sony, nikon, polaroid, and etc
if you have any questions ask

and good luck on finding that park u probly should have started a new thread though
