Some of the better stuff I found this week

Posted on: August 01, 2011, 02:02:10 AM
I cleaned some of the brass and bronze stuff, yea.....I know, but I dug it, I'll clean it if I want.  Mad Starting at the top of the first pic... A strange rock that the detector went nuts over (meteorite?) a mess of wheaties to the right of it ( I bet I dig over 200 pennies a week, mostly lincolns) Just below the rock....a brasss musical note "clip" that still works, a brass compact that still has blush in it, a brass lipstick case that still has lipstick in it, a bronze ball (no clue wtf its for, but its heavy as hell) a brass buckle of some sort. Third row down from the top...a bronze lock says "US" on it, a silver bell, a bronze ring with a "B" on it, a 925 silver ring, a junk ring with its junk stones missing, and another junk (not sure yet, havent looked at it lol ) a junk money clip, a lead figure of a cannon. Next row starting with the GMan badge, a great seal button just behind it is a silver? over iron button, cant make out what it is, a junk spider pendent, just below that is a silver plated broach, the larger coin is a casino token says McCarrans $1 airport slots on it. a piece of a bronze spoon. Bottom row is a large brass lock, some sort of medal? A dog tag, a 25th anniversary token thats been mangled. a 1947 dime, 2-1964 dimes, a 1918 mercury, a 1883 dime, a 1887 indian head penny, and a silver cross. A good week of detecting  Detecting

I only had to play the slots at Las Vegas's McCarran airport once to learn my lesson.....NEVER play the slots at the airport unless you feel like you won too much during your stay  Grin

Great finds, and they look good cleaned, too!
Your rock doesn't look like a meteorite.  I appears to be layered which would indicate it is a sedementary rock laid down at the bottom of an ocean or seabed over eons of time.  But.. what do I know, I'm just looking at a picture!  Thanks for sharing.  I look forward to seeing more of your finds.  Wise
