Hey Vision ,
I thought the Golden Nugget piece was cool , so I looked it up. Looks like it's a vintage brass watch fob. Saw a place selling it for $20.00 ! You might want to throw it on the fleabay and see if you can make a few bones off of it. Cool finds , Good Luck !

interesting! I have a bucket full of that kind of stuff I'll send you to look up! lol Thanks, I wouldnt have known until this winter when I'm cooped inside and bored looking up my finds on the net. I found a couple casino chips from vegas this summer, its strange how they endup here and end up lost where I can find them!  I'm going to make a ring out of the Mcarrans $1 chip I found, similar to the pic here. I found it on their website but it doesnt say anything about it.

I am so jealous that I need some 80 proof to relax.
Great pictures, I always like to see what others are finding.

I just spent the past week in NW Arkansas and was unable to bring along my MD.
I kept seeing places and thinking, I wonder what I would find there.    Cry

p.s. I like the creative use of the paper clip, I think I will use that next time.

does anyone know what the copper things are in the last 2 pics? the first in that row is a .45 casing I put in for size reference. The "casing" in the middle had something like gun powder in it when I found it and has 2 chambers inside. The larger copper thing with the rivet......no clue wth that is.

I believe the copper item with the rivet is a telephone "Bell" ringer.
I tried to find a picture of one, but parts pictures are not always easy to find.

Thanks for the reply.........the bottom or end opposite the rivet looks like it was torn from something, like that piece is only part of a part. I  would have searched better for the rest of it had I been able to tell what I had found (it was a blob of sand and rocks with a tiny piece of the rivet only showing). I'll be searching that area again tomorrow. It's a road tearout under a RR bridge in the old part of town. They got the sidewalks busted up but havent removed the slabs yet but should tomorrow  Rider  I found that under the section of road they have torn out so far. I dont know what they used so much lead for in the old days, but I found a mess of large pieces there so far, I left it, one must have weighed 20 lbs.

thanks Krango, I always like seeing what youve found, all of our friends overseas finding all that ancient stuff is really cool to those of us that live in a country thats only a few hundred years old.  Detecting I'd like to find someone over there that wants to trade some common finds. I dont care if I cant even make out what the coins are, having something ancient would be great!

Usually gold plated says its plated (14kgp) or something that signifies plating. I have some chains where the clasp says 14K, had them tested and they are 14K, just a thought on that chain.Nice finds...DW

Not 14kgp. Gold filled, HGE or EP, yes. Gold Filled is a fancy word to say the inside is not gold but a filler. HGE is Heavy Gold Electroplated and EP is Electroplated but 14kgp is a guarantee of 14k gold, not some estimate. Look it up. Don't take my word for it.
