Hi all - I'm very glad the snow is gone for good (I hope!) and have been out hunting the past couple weeks. Found a few decent finds but nothing to shout about.

Thanks for reading and good luck out there!

Very nice. I'm intrigued in knowing in general what are the places that you hunt for every time you post you come up with so much good stuff. I have not found a buffalo nickel yet, let alone a Morgan.  Great

Where I live there are many parks and some of these areas have spots in them where there used to be old houses back in the 1800's. I've done some research and located many of them on maps and photographs as well as read about the occupants that lived there. I also located a very nice spot that had many people going through it at one time over 100 years ago but had been abandoned for decades and this appeared to be undetected so far - it's brought me the largest amount of finds. I also hit areas in the spring where later in the year they are covered in thick weeds and tall grass, sides of hills and tops of old walls - just about anywhere people would sit and hang out or hurry up or down. These spots usually have a few hits with older coins. (I do dig a LOT of trash too!! WAY too much!!)

Thanks for the kind comments!  Smiley

Nice finds there  agent 651. Those nickels are hard to find for me... Its one of the fewest coins I have. Nickels won't sound off on my machine when I hit coin check. Those that I do find are just a lucky dig...My hunting area's sound like yours. Old homes and the like. Trash? I use the smallest coil I have in those areas. It do's help me I think...
