Thanks for all the great replies and good advice! This board has some wise hunters on it-
I have been scouting a few spots early in the morning so that I can come back on my day off from work and do a more thorough hunt. Mostly some stuff from the 1930's-40's I think and a bunch of whatsits.
Heel tap, broken flatware and another couple wheats too.
My machine detects nickels very well and I do hit many pull tabs in between them. I find this is right around the setting I find the most gold too - so I leave it on that and suffer through the trash, knowing the good stuff will come eventually. The one thing that keeps me going is bringing home that one odd or cool find every hunt. You really never know what will pop up. HH everyone!
