Here is my first Indian Head ever, although worn out by soil conditions. It is in a new site I researched and in which I'm finding interesting pieces. I'm just waiting for the soil to dry a little for it has rained so much in Chicago that it seems as if we are living in a swamp  Shocked It just makes detecting a little uncomfortable  Undecided

The first pic is the cent cleaned after electrolysis and the second shows the way I found it. I also found a little pocket spill of two buffalos and three wheaties, all stuck together. I'm still in the process of cleaning them and will show them later.

The frist IH penny I found was a eyeball  Shocked find sticking half way in the mud after hard rains next to a tree. Also the oldest I have. The detector  Detecting will beep for ya while your eyes Shocked are wondering elsewhere...Keep your eyes open wide after hard rains!! Also, you might get some beeps while the ground is wet where you might not when the ground is dry. The halo effect...

That is absolutely true. Wet dirt facilitates detecting. My latest finds from last week were all from really wet dirt. My MD was really crazy beeping 100% of the time, even with low sensitivity. Most of the stuff dug was trash, but that was the way I found my goodies. There are a lot more trash and goodies together in the site, but my humanity has limits Wise. I have to divide the place and work it out little by little.

Well, it seems that you will get a couple now!  Clapp. You can also buy them through e-bay, but of course is never the same excitement as when you find them
