Well, turns out that the pendant is probably costume jewelry but it did hit, so I'm guessing that it's probably micro-plated with gold?
In two hour scan of elementary school out on the soccer and baseball area - I got:
five pennies
two nickels
one quarter (looks to be Delaware state quarter)
one heart shaped pendant
 Grin
