I was short on time Tues, but I wanted to hunt. So I figure I would swing around my backyard (1972) a bit. Found some nails and then got a solid dime signal (target id of 68 on F2). I barely scraped off the top layer of gravel and dirt and there I find a 1956 wheatback!
I've been researching my locale and hunting and haven't found any coins before 1968. I guess what I've read is right, "start in your own backyard". I know it isn't worth much, but it was my oldest coin so far!
