Cool Find...Smiley...looks like some type of button can't really see the post on the back it looks like it was broken off, may be one of those collar tabs with a screw in back also...either way great find

Don't think it is a button...I think it's a "tag" for a pole or something like that.
I have seen some similar....I have NEVER seen a Military button with numbers that are off set or of differant sizes...and I have over 200 dug Military buttons from around the world..and several referance books on them.
