I was out detecting the front yard seeing if it had any more to give up and it did. found 2 pennies, 2 nails, wire,22case & a 1967 quarter at 11", almost the length of my lesche dig tool. I'm amazed at the depth my scorpion finds stuff.

Well done, mate. Quarters do seem to sink quite deeply for some reason.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

There still are a lot hits in my front yard but I can tell by the sound that they are iron. I'll get them next time I'm bored.

My past finds have all been pennies, nails and house keys. Speaking of foiled my biggest hole in the lawn was caused by gold foil , the kind that comes wrapped around rollo candy. only God knows how it got 8" in my lawn. Grin

My machine sounds off like gold or a nickel when it hits that gold foil, does yours do the same? Foiled

yes it does. what I was doing was using my scorp because it gets good depth. well my wife was practicing with her gmt so i told her to come over and check it. well it read 15 on the scale witch means non-ferrous, the same reading as a coin or a gold nugget.
