do i trade in or sock it away

I will sit on it until i know exactly what its worth.
I don’t mean the gold metal value. As a gold token should worth allot more to a collector.
And sorry i asked about your avatar. I didn’t meant to get you to change it I was just curious why you change it
May be the monkey brought you the good luck

If that goody was mine I would run a Jewelry  rat tail file in the Hole and test the Goods.

You do not tell us what it says!   I bet someone could chase it down if you did.

Not much that I can tell you about it except that Thomas and Richard Penn were the sons and heirs of William Penn, the "founder" and proprietor/governor of Pennsylvania.  They succeeded their father in the position of proprietor.

As for Whitehead and Hoag they were button makers in the US and held the patent on the process used to make a lot of campaign and advertising buttons.

Well, took the medallion to a guy I trust and we did a real good test near the hole on medal along the back, and under a high power magnifye  it turns out this is a very heavy plated gold  No no! Embarrassed Cry, but the good news is that it is old and is still a nice collectors item and worth at least $40.or more just gotta find a buyer or
stick it in the collection and chalk on up to the study of testing gold. Grin and a big thanks for the fun run with this one guys. Beer Chug
