Go Up Go Down

Hi all,
Went out again on Sat, still got the same problem with high weeds as they have not died away yet, but it was a beautiful day just enjoyed being out in the woods.
Anyway I did manage some finds only 5 coins 3 of which were goodies, 1903 "V" nickle U S 1887 Indian head penny U S 1874 silver dime Canadian, (pix later)
I also found the usual shell casings didn't bother to take any pix of those but I did find a "wash basin and a drinking glass" the glass was "in" the basin I nearly broke it; the basin is enamelled steel and still in good shape the glass is like new apart from a scuff mark from my spade.
On the bottom is a mark and I cant find it in my glass ware book,it is a letter "F" as in the pic can any one ID it for me...........Johnnn...?

What an interesting find, John!  Very cool!  Here is a link to the mark on the glass.

It appears to be the Federal Glass Company, from Columbus, Ohio.  That mark was first used in 1932.

Hi dave,
That link takes me to a bunch of Roman stuff on "this" site, was it the right link you put me through to?
Would like to see it as this site has not produced anything after 1918 so I am naturally curious ...Thanks  johnnn

Those are excellent finds! A month ago I went to a forest preserve and found a picnic bowl probably from the 50s about 10 inches down, but it was badly corroded.  Angry
I haven't had any luck finding nice coins in the woods yet!  Sad

I will, I will. The last time I went to the woods I found nice old bottles instead. I really liked that too!

Yes old bottles are great to find I like the blue and green once they have a particular way of letting the sun light through them. And they look great
