Went out to old property. Searched the ground for 4 hours and found a few goodies. The button I thought was junk until I started looking at it more closely. I noticed the seal was from NJ and the back was imprinted Superior Co with the metal ties and post still intact. Found it might be a militia button. Not sure so if any one can help me identify better I appreciate the help.The coins are self explanatory. Mercury dime 1925, Wheat 1941 and silver dollar 1889 Philadelphia mint.

They are silver from that era. As far as I know, no US coin was ever plated silver but they were alloyed with other metals for increasing durability. Solid silver would be pretty soft.
