After playing around with the picture quality of jpg files, I'd discovered that no matter how small I make them, they still won't be small enough to satisfy the 500k maximum file size per image. And, I discovered that GIF files are much smaller but slightly less in quality, so I'll go with that!
It was a great couple of days for me in an old part of the city where they dug up a section of the road. My hunt was a truly amazing all time best! My first Indian Head penny - 1901, my first V-nickel - 1896, and a 1953 s Roosevelt dime. I also 1944 Wheat penny, and a 1973 p copper penny as well as some other clad pennies. The nice relic (I'm guessing here maybe is a anchor plate for a ceiling lamp? Down in the ground where I was hunting about 8 inches down is this thin rebar type of 'cage/pipe' it's about a foot in diameter and over 40' long. It wreaked havoc on my metal detector every time I came near it. Has anyone seen something like this before?
The second day back I found a 1920 wheatie, a large button (I think) and a old rifle cartridge. There were a couple of other hits in the ground, but was 6-8" down through solid hard packed dirt/rocks, so I passed on those.
Anyway, even though I was really roasting in the sun and also almost lost my fit-bit, I'm very happy with the hunt.
