Sweet looking lizard.  Living up here in the north....most animals I see have fur.  The odd gecko and the odd garter snake, but that's about it Smiley

the odd garter snake, but that's about it

I was out walking my two Labradors and the pup brought back a garter snake for me. I knew what it was right away but for a small portion of a second, I was not sure and was quite worried. Three more white hairs sprung out on my head from that.

I thanked the pup and the snake and let him go home while I restrained the youngster. My wife swears I yipped a bit but I have no recollection of that. Must have been the dog.

I used to have an alligator lizard as a pet, I caught it out in the woods when I was a kid. It got loose in the house and I found him alive and well months later in the house still. Not sure what he ate in all that time, or where he deposited the remnants of his dinner. :0

GD, that story reminds of a time when I was younger and fear was not part of my vocabulary.   I was stating in the Manitoba prairies at my uncles house when I saw a snake bolt by one of the fence posts.   Well the chase was on, I nearly caught it a few times until my uncle asked what in the heck I was doing.  I said just chasing a snake.  He said, maybe I should chase ones that do not cause blindness when they spit in your face.   After that, the word fear was now in the dictionary with a small note beside it that said, "Fear is only for the manitoba prarie snakes, we can still chase the ones at home" Smiley

Caleb, do they eat bugs or are they more into small rodents?   I'm thinking either way, your house was well protected Smiley

Should say staying, not stating..
