Not much to post here but first MD of the year for me! We have some friends a couple miles away, and my wife & daughter both ride at this barn which has English style Hunter/Jumper riding lessons there. Well, the arena is an outdoor arena, and the owner/trainer called and asked that I come down right away because one of the riders had lost a ring in the arena somewhere.
After over an hour and a half, no luck.
Lots of hits on things in the dirt - but the way the arena is, everything below 1" of soil is hard-packed by the horse hoofs and wouldn't be worth the effort to try and dig them up. Plus I wouldn't want to create soft 'holes' for the horses to step into when they are in the arena. I got about 1/2 dozen dime hits, about the same of nickel hits and probably a couple dozen penny hits - and all were 4" or deeper! So, they'll just have to stay there. Of the ones I did get... just Horse nails, the end to a zipper, and small bits of horseshoes. Oh, and a couple of round things - almost looked like buttons, one was a magnet!

And of the coins ... just one dime.
But still it was fun getting out and trying to find it for the rider.

Below is picture of the barn - with a couple riders in it.. to show you what I was hunting.

Shame you couldn't dig the deeper ones. How long has the arena been there? If not long you are probably just losing modern coins.
Thanks for sharing.
