Go Up Go Down

It was Guy Fawkes night on Friday, but it was raining, so the big public display at the pier was put off till last night. I thought this morning would be a good day to plunder the beach for all the riches that were dropped in last nights revelry. How silly was I?  Idiot
The beach was a trash heap!! bottles and cans and, food wrappers and spent fireworks!! I can't believe the mess people left behind, i filled three bags with rubbish and that was only what I found under the sand. There was a dozen or so 'official' clean up people walking up the beach getting most of the visible rubbish. I did find $4.50 in usable coinage and a key along with the trash, but the most disturbing finds were the used sparklers buried in the sand! sharp pieces of wire just under the sand ready to go into someone's foot!!  Angry

but here are the finds worthy of presentation..

So after the beach i went (via the mall for lunch) to a playground (tot lot) to try my luck.
My first try at one of these places had caused problems with the detector, which seemed to happen again in a particular area (as explained in the post in the Garret thread )But other than the weird stuff at one end of the playground I had a good time picking old and not so old coins out of the bark mulch.
I got $1.10 in usable coin and some older stuff, and got my first ring!! {alt}
it's only kids costume jewellery but my eyes widened when i saw it ...

That ring is cool. Doesn't sound like you did too bad.

Cheers

Sean
