Nice going! What drew you to that area? Is it a currently used area or one that has seen activity only many years ago?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

still used, old paths every where, its a mixed woods pine oke,its east of munich place called grunwald,Its where the americans entered munich in 1945,some areas are littered with schrapnell where the germans blew up the old bridge to stop the yanks, also a roman road runs through here,I have found a few pices but not in good condition,I know a guy who found two gold roman coins not far from this area(no lie),,on the other side of the river there are bronze age graves, but under state protection they have never been opened,(do not dig any where near these),all in all its a large area you can walk for miles(days) along the river, also discoverd futher down in the woods WWII bunkers, still intakt, over all a very interesting area, stinks of history,,,,,mikek

Fascinating information. I only wish Australia had such a long history of metal use. Ours goes back only to the very first settlers here which happened no more than 200 years ago. Even in 1900, there were fewer than 100,000 in Perth. It grew rapidly after gold was discovered in Western Australia. Perth, Albany, Augusta and Fremantle were the major port cities of that time and they grew rapidly. Since the 1950s, the old sites were either restored or removed for newer buildings covering much of the early areas completely. There are a few areas in the suburbs that have still got early occupied areas accessible but they are rare and in some cased protected.

Nice finds!   Great

Wow, seems Australia is worse off than the upper Midwest as far as detecting relics. Not too much history out there. Bummer!

Plenty of history just not with a lot of metal use. The Aboriginals have documented history that goes back 40,000 years but they never used metal until it was brought here. Even raw gold was considered useless. Imagine that? They were a people that believed the land provided them with life, which it did, and they needed no more from the earth than the food they ate.
