Ahhhh that's what I meant.....history involving metal use. Ever find any arrowheads there?

No but I did find a stone age axe. I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it here.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

No complaints here at all. Just wish we had a bit more history to unearth. The Romans never made it to Australia. Probably not for lack of trying.

Nuggets? What nuggets. Are there nuggets here?

No comment on that because I have an active mining lease (a 'claim' to the Americans) here with a partner. We have an agreement not to divulge any details at all at present.

Awesome, thanks for the invite. Once plane tickets become free I'll give you a shout!  Smiley

Gold claim? Interesting............... I was just reading about the Klondike Alaskan gold rush around the end of the 19th century. Woulda loved to be a part of that!

mikek;

Oh yummy, worms!

I came to post, read the stuff below and forgot what I was going to say, 'they' say, when that happens it was probably a lie.... but no, I was going to ask something, not say something....  Funny

What is the ornate item on the chain?

I cant stand early worms, I prefer it when the day has warmed a bit, this is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby, why should I be uncomfortable..... now if I could find that dratted golf cane....

Now I remember.... had a seniors moment, there, the ditty: "If you go down to the woods today......" do you know the rest of the story?? The next line is "Be sure you are in disguise..." Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Funny

for every bear that ever was....my x wife use to sing it to my kids(shes irish),the chain thing is part of a Bavarian national dress,better known as a tracht,button coins,these type of chains ect,most have a lions head,but the one I found yesterday has a artdecko pattern,so 1920-1935,some where around that pierod,they are common finds here,most are made of copper or brass,the modern ones 1960ties up words are mostly made of some alloy,
