Welcome to the forums. Thanks for sharing these fine relics from days gone by. You brought back some long ago memories in me. Warm ones.

I like it when that happens.

Hello IQS . Print a big glossy photo "flyer" of a Big Gold chain or big Diamond Ring you may have found include your cell phone number and Photo of your nice GTI-1500 . Then put on the flyer , this is what I found so far in the neighbor hood and state you will offer a percentage % to the homeowner and stick em on all the mailboxes or front door knobs , watch out for Pit-Bulls !!  Shocked

HH and Best Regards...... Great...Eugene

It is unfortunate that people judge others by their appearance.

Even us old white guys are not that well trusted sometimes.

So, I guess it can be double tough on what people see as a

minority.

All I can say is that I do best when I can meet folks. I first

try to befriend them before I talk about metal detecting.

Trust is hard to get sometimes. Trust, if you can get it will

open the doors.

If I see someone outside in a area I want to hunt, I will

approach and start a conversation. MDing will just come

out of the conversation.

That is by most successful method.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

My stepson (24 years old) also suggests that I might be able to disguise my detector as a weedeater and they might think I'm a gardener.  If approached by anyone just keep moving while saying, "No hablo Ingles"... hahahaha!!!!!

Sorry but if I ran across you in a park I'd scruff you behind the ears, give you a Milk Bone(tm) and rub your tummy.

Unless you don't really look like your avatar. Then I'd apologize profusely and slink away very, very embarrassed.
