I think it is ok to report in the police station your intentions but if they want to do it by the book to issue a permission for you it might take over a week.
Unless the duty officer wants to satisfy a tourist and give you a verbal authorization .
In to the place I live i see a lot of people for years doing it . Talking for my self I never had a problem. Sometimes i get company people they want to share the heat of discovery. I only met friendly people down the beach.

I was there many, many years ago. The wall was fantastic to see and the ruins everywhere gave ma such a sense of history. A lovely place. This was back in 1971.

Yeap i know what you are talking about . It is up hill what we call ''Ano poli'' and '' Kastra" It means ''Upper Town"" and '' Castlles '' I guess 1971 everything looked much ideal without all those new buildings around it !! I was 10 years old at that time!!
