Thats great. I am in upstate new york near poughkeepsie. I've only found a few mid 1900's coins and some turn of the century silverware. Nothing good yet.

Yea I'm very new to this hobby. Its been raining here all day so ive been searching the web for old fw beers maps of my town from the mid 1800s and i found an atlas online which is also available in my local library so tomorrow ill go there and copy the atlas page with my towns map on it. Should be interesting, i already found my house on the map as it was in 1867 from what i can see on google maps quite a few of the old homes on that map are not there anymore but i want to overlay it to be sure what im seeing is accurate. I hope i find a few good locations.
