Go Up Go Down

Here are my finds for last Monday. I chose not to post them back then because somebody else posted some luckier finds and I didn't want to look like a me too. So here they are. All of the coins were found in one park with the exception of the 3 large coins at the bottom right. I won them in a raffle at my metal detecting club that evening. The 2 silver dollars were the top tier coins for the drawing, and I had the lucky tickets for both. The one on the left is a 1921 Morgan, the second is a 1924 Peace dollar, and the last is a 1945 walking liberty silver half dollar. What an amazing lucky day. Speaking of a lucky day, I had another lucky day today in the park. I found 100 plus coins and still counting, a few trinkets, and 2 WWII "Wheatie" pennies. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Here's the picture of yesterday's park finds. A total of 203 coins and a few trinkets. The sad part is the 128 pennies on the left are only sell able to the junkyard. Most coins I  have found at one time. Nice little Eagle pin on the right. Has 2 posts. Don't believe it's silver though.

Actually legs are still good. Kind of used to the up and down. Spent many years squatting behind console TVs repairing them. No silver markings except for a part number on the back. It might be some kind of hat or garment pin for a military uniform. I will research that. It is plated on copper. I suspect Nickel plating. One way to tell is boil or fry an egg, then place the  piece on the yoke  and watch if it turns black. If it does, it is silver if it doesn't it's nickel. Sulfur turns silver black. That's why you don't eat eggs with a real silver fork.

Lucky day for me in the park today. What are the chances of finding a Thrust Ring Bearing for a Xk9-3 interplanetary space vessel? When a ship crashes that part hardly ever survives. Can't say the same for the occupants. I found the ship 1-1/2 miles away in another park 8 inches down. Yup! No Thrust Ring Bearing. This one is in such good shape I might be able to refurbish one of those crashed vessels.
