Go Up Go Down

I figured my last post would be it for the year. The temp was pushing 55 degrees and I had two afternoons at the old farm. Had a blast and picked up quite a few pieces. There were 3 30-06 casings a 308 and a bullet that obviously had not hit anything... an old green bottle with screw cap(cracked and with liquid in it) some old bathroom fixtures(must be brass) and a screw cap with a glass liner which was not broken and a screw cap that was on a piece of wood with a round hole in the top(left side). It's getting really cold now and I think my fun is about over.

Did pick up an 1872 map of the area and found a piece of ground not a mile from my house that showed that 3 buildings used to stand caty cornered from a 1780's inn and stagecoach stop here in the Pocono's. Trying to find the owner to get a shot at it in the spring. Nothing there now except woods.

My season is over too. Snow on the ground and temps in the twenty's for highs.  Cry Great finds and good luck with the permission to hunt those woods.

Fun on the Farm!  Thanks for sharing!   Wow! Finding the old map and locating that piece of land is great.  I have located the owners of land by going to the county assessor's office and asking them about the piece of land.  Here, in my county, they used to give the owner's name out.  Don't know if they do that everywhere, but it should be public record.  Good luck!       Detecting

I got permission to hunt a skirmish site by going to the property assors office and asking who owned the land then making a phone call. They still do it in Tennessee.
