What fun!!  My first MD was a Garret Ace 250.  I found so many items with it, it got me hooked on treasure Hunting, I just had to get a more sophisticated MD.

Hi abpnick,...what would you suggest I get for my next MD (without costing the earth)
best wishes,
Andrew.

Hi,

The only experience that I have is with the Ace 250 (about $200. USD),  Minelab Explorer II (Cost $1250 USD) in 2006, now available used for about $650 USD,  Minelab Explorer SE  about $1250 USD in 2008.

The Minelab line is where I expect to stay unless the quality declines because the Company has been sold and will be manufactured in Malaysia.  I have succumbed to Minelab's reputation.
