nice ring but isn't .925 stirling silver? Undecided

Not when it's marked PT after the .925!   LOL      OOOOOOPS it is .950 PT!

•Jewelry that contains 850, 900 or 950 parts per thousand of pure platinum may be marked "Plat" or "Pt" if a number is used in front of the term to disclose the amount of pure platinum in the mix, such as •"850 Plat" or "850 Pt", or
 •"950 Plat" or "950 Pt"

•Jewelry that contains at least 950 parts per thousand of platinum group metals, with at least 500 parts per thousand of the total pure platinum, may be marked as platinum as long as the numbers of each metal are disclosed. For instance, •"600 Pt. 350 Ir." or 600 Plat. 350 Irid." for 600 parts pure platinum and 350 parts iridium
 •"550Pt. 350Pd. 50Ir." or "550Plat. 350Pall. 50Irid." for 550 parts pure platinum, 350 parts palladium and 50 parts iridum

Some times folks not in know sell Platinum rings thinking there Silver!       Always check them out at the flea markets.

Homefire, Have you ever come across rhodium jewelry? I came across this about rhodium plating but I've never seen any rhodium jewelry.

(Why Rhodium?
Rhodium is considered best in class of all the platinum metals family for resistance to corrosion and tarnish. Rhodium will also remain bright and shiny under most environmental conditions. Not surprisingly, of all the metals in this group, rhodium is by far the most expensive to utilize.  Rhodium is nearly 4x as expensive as platinum, and 9x as expensive as gold.

Rhodium is the most tarnish resistant member of the platinum metals group. As a protective coating, rhodium finishes virtually eliminate any chance of surface discoloring even when exposed to extreme environmental conditions under normal temperatures. The surface hardness of plated rhodium is also the highest of the precious metals, and is thus highly resistant to incidental scratching and abrasion. Rhodium plated finishes are best in class for wearability among the precious metals.)

Platinum does not shine up like Gold or even Silver.

Some Platinum Items are Rhodium plated for the Luster that can be had.

Very nice, now if I can only get my spousal unit to swing the MD, we could cover twice the ground.

Thanks gambol1. yeah, just me and windows paint. I keep making changes to it as the mood strikes me.

I see you list the ace 250. wife and kids surprised me with one about a week ago. Sure has changed my approach to hunting but I think I may be 'throttling back' too much, running about 50% sensitivity and disc. all but the top 5 slots. my thoughts are quick sun-go-down hunts, shallow for recent coins. With the old ADS III VLF/TR Deepseeker (still love it) it was dig 'em all, and drag all the iron home. Now the trash is almost eliminated, but I haven't been finding much coin either. Opinion?
