Well finally got back from out of state and headed to Loon lake, stopped by the office on the way in and talk to the gal if I could detect on the beach, with some well umm.... I guess... I finally got permission to detect. She told me there has been a few others come out and detect there but didn't really do much. So me and my AT Pro started way down the on the end and began, after four hours of detecting came up with a little over a dollar in clad, lots of bottle tops and a few pull tabs. The Nel coil on this machine is very sensitive, gonna take sometime to get used to it. The beach area started to get real crowded so I wrapped up and headed back to the house. Definitely will be heading back there again, just after all the vacationers get on out of there.

A little further South around the Rouge and I would be in gold country there!  I have my Gold bug for that, but need a bit more time to head out for that kind of adventuring.

As for the Elk, a great many hunters for the pass 40 years that I know of have been wanting to put them on their table.  But they are on a private and protected land and that's why they are so pretty looking and so many of them.  That was only one in a herd of about 15 to 20. There are now four to five herds that live on that property.  Smiley  They have a viewing area for them now, that you can stop at and watch and drool !

Good Luck and have fun.

A trip back would indeed be in order.  Way to take outthe junk.  If ther lady had still been there I would have made a point of showing her the junk also!

I made a point to stop back at the shack and shown her what I found including the trash.  I thanked her for letting me detect, and wished her good day!  But yeah I think it is important to be thankful to these folks and make sure we show them we can help them keep areas safe and clean. I want to be able to return here, so making a good first impression certainly was high on my priority list!

Thanks Nickel, It is a rather beautiful lake.  I remember it being not so popular, but they have made many improvements to it and now it has become somewhat the place to go for recreation and water sports.  Just as long as they keep playing on that sandy beach, I will be very much a happy detectorist!!  LOL they can make all the improvements they want to keep them people coming!
