Go Up Go Down

I found this in a public restroom near the cracks of the tile & drain something shiny, thought it was just some aluminum foil, but fished it out anyway. I'm now thinking it's just some cheap plastic, but not sure. I'll probably take it to a jewelry store and ask them. it's really tiny too. Probably about 1/8 th carat or smaller. Top is style of a round-cut, but strangely the bottom looks like it has gold paint on it? why would they do that? So, that's why I'm thinking that it's just costume jewelry right?

Thoughts/comments?

Zulu, adding a reflective surface (like a mirror finish) adds to the "sparkle" of costume jewelry.   For some reason a lot of the silvered surfaces appear gold when looked at from the unmirrored side.

No, I can't sorry - I just lost it in my pocket. Oh well.

They only put the reflective paint on glass diamonds used on cheap jewelry. You probably have heard of a zircon or white sapphire? well they are used in the cheaper type of jewelry too. Unfortunately what you have found is the second cheapest, the cheapest being the plastic type.
