dit manage to get a bit of detecting in ,hunted some old wood land south of Dublin,did not find much oldest coin a victioran 1/2 penny 1872,will be hiting the west of I reland sunday,got a good site celtic ring forts,and a 16th centuray British trade out post,enjoy the pics mikek

Enjoyed looking at the photos, Mike. That was a pretty neat place to detect - I liked the old ruins. View of the sea, too. Is the old cross up where it would be viewed from the sea? Nice assortment of coins and 'as found' pix. What's that on the bottom far left? Good luck in the west. Thanks for sharing. Sue

Think there just modern euro,still ok to find,the rest are old coppers,the conditions of all the coins are real bad due to the pine forest,look at the state of the modrn 2 euro pice dated 2003,hope to do better on the older sites,found one silver 1940 Irish 6d (6 pence),mike

hi sir.Good day!im crick2x.i want to ask for your help.i want to explore treasure spots in some part of visayas leyte.because i know that there are treasures that lies beneath the ground near at our rice field.i saw a tree that they have a symbol with it and its really caught my attention because there are a file of stone blocks near in that tree that have a symbol attach to it.but i dont have any metal devices that I can use to prove it.I Hope that you can help me.Thanks!

Hi Mike, What's the greyhound coin - #2 in the list and also in the soil picture? I guess, earlier, when I asked what bottom left item was, that I didn't realize it was a stack. Thought it was a solid cylinder. Sue

hi sue most old Irish coins picture animals,it is a great detecting country,never made it to the west guinness got the better of me,still I enjoyed it, back to Germany on the 1st,got some nice pix,will post them as soon as I can,ps I know where the greyhound coin is going...to my friend in the US,they are a common find here,the so called pre decimal(sterling system)Ireland republic of was part of the sterling system untill 1977then we broke away to join the EMS(total independent nation),its now euro in the ROI,like most of europe
