Nothing really salient in todays after work hunt in the woods. A 1939 wheaty, a couple of old marbles, and some clad.

Now, the "micro" coffin (of which I have no idea what was used for) was in my opinion desecrated and probably looted. Angry I was detecting in an area that I noted was recently detected by another folk, who by the way, was not covering his huge holes. Come on!  Violent. That folk did not cover the coffin either  Violent. In fact the lid and the cross were out of the hole. I passed the detector over the coffin and no signal received. So, what happened? Wood would not enable a signal on any MD right? But, whoever unearthed the coffin, probably received a signal, don't you think?  Angry

You know what, I would never ever desecrate, let alone, take anything buried in a coffin. That's is bad, really bad. I don't care if there is silver or gold inside, it would go covered intact again. Well it is not my business if he/she took whatever was inside the coffin, but please cover your holes, would you?  No no!

Perhaps. It was under a tree.

The lowest of the low is a graverobber, and a close second is the inconsiderate ass who doesn't fill back holes he/she dug. FYI, wood/tree roots/stones/plastic objects will register as a cavity on the Nokta Golden King.

I agree. Thanks for the info on how the Nokta responds to non-metallic stuff underground.

(lots of them in e-bay)

I noted mentioning of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead), a Mexican tradition. It could've been part of Dia de Muertos ceremony.

Perhaps you should be concerned that it was a grave of someone tiny, like a baby, and call the police. You really aren't supposed to bury babies in the woods these days.

Well, I rather thought of ashes from a deceased pet for being so small (about 8x3").

I see. That sounds reasonable. I couldn't tell the size from the picture.
