Go Up Go Down

Hi All,
Got out today, really cool weather but great for detecting, had the world to myself again didn't meet another human all day, except my detecting buddy and only on our radios and lunch.
Found 3 musket balls a piece of a either a flintlock pistol or musket rifle, 3 Wheat pennies 1 Buffalo nickle "cant read the date" a 9mm "empty" magazine I believe this to be 1960's, a ancient bicycle saddle, this was a suprise my first in 38 years of detecting, the leather that had clung to this was also in the hole, and I remembered that saddles usually had a makers name on the back, so I did some more poking around and found the small copper tag that told me it was a "Wrights" cycle and was made in England.
Another boy scout badge and an 1812 large plain button.
...........HH...........Johnnn

I am fairly certain that you must be retired. You sure get out a lot... I am jealous... 50 more years to go for me.

Peace

OK Guy's, Yes I am retired and still don't get out as often as I would like my most prolific sites are all about 2 hrs away, and I do not go to them during the summer, mainly because I avoid insect bites and being away from the pavement means taking lots of fluids along, so the cooler weather suits me best.
This year I have got so far two older houses to look over, one I will be at this week looking forward to a few goodies from that outing.
And of course there's "the honey do list".......HH........Johnnn
Take your time getting to retirement age and just think of all the new technology you guys will be able to enjoy, y'know those futuristic detectors with TV screens so you never have to dig up junk ever again Smiley

I Know your right B A, but just how much folded silver paper do you want to dig up? they still haven't invented a machine that will disc that out.
I always detect in "all metals" anyway so I do my share of de-contamination,I think most detectorists get rid of a lot of trash,"IF" you are following the code of conduct.........HH........Johnnn
