Did a little detecting and digging in the old dump area on the 1800's property. Found a few bottles, only identified one so far,"it is 5 inches tall and says Chamberlans colic, cholera and diarrhea remedy from Demoine, IA." , The other bottles Im working on. Other finds while detecting were a flat button, couple of clothes buckles, part of some horse accesory, just the usual!

Your welcome and thanks for your reply! Bottle hunting is new to me because I happened to stumble across an area were glass and pottery was dumped and washed down the bank behind the old homestead that I've been detecting, but it's pretty exciteing and it's got me more interested in it!
"Good Luck with your hunting!" Great

old dump sites can be good for finding old bottles, any old area probly will have a few bottles waiting to be found. I think in the old days moast people just dumped their rubbish out the back of the property,
another Idea , perhaps the old bottle stores /  drug stores...  would be worth have a look
 Happy hunting

I believe your right about the dumping out behind the property. Digging is rougher than I thought, things seem to be scattered about and its kinda random digging on this slope where they have washed down over a hundred years and the soil is clay thick ! "Thanks for your reply!"

lots of the bottles ive found have been on the surface , just have a good lookaround. Its easy digging when they are partly exposed! happy hunting  Cool
