No photo's but I can tell ya they sounded like a B-52 buzzing your ears.

The only way you got a good sleep during the Monsoons was to sleep in a Net or have a high power fan blowing overy you.

They couldn't find or land on you with the wind from the fan.

It would be 100F at night and I chose the Fan thing.  Two, one head to toes the other accross.

Next worst I delt with was in Florida.   Stationed at Patric AFB, I was living in base housing.  Just accross the road from me was this cool little Kiddy Park.

There I was New Garrett ADS in hand.  Walked across the road hitting the TOT lots in shorts.  My legges felt funny!  I look down and I was covered with 1/4 inch Blood sucking Black Vermine from Hell.

You couldn't put a finger between em.

They had a Fog Truck come thru there twice a week they as so bad.

Must experience the ones from my island Puerto Rico. Those skeeters don't believe in deet, off, or whatever you use. They'll buzz on your ears and stick to your face, arms, legs, any body part exposed and even thru your cloth. Nets are commonly used to sleep and also almost all houses in PR have metallic screens on windows and doors. Going over there this summer in August, so I must be prepared for the mosquito and heat action.

I'm surprised that the Yamashita guys aren't telling you about the mozzies in the Philippines. Why, when I was there back in the day, we saddled a few of them up and had some really cool races. These guys would turn over your dog tags while you slept just to get your blood type. Some of the really bad ones had nasty old tattoos.

LOL!  I like that one GD. Cool

They could suck an entire small boy or girl right up the shnoz without even slowing down. We had retired air traffic controllers directing them around the camp. Side numbers and nose art on every one of them, too.
