I found a shoe buckle where the battle of Rhode Island took place. I found the exact same one online. They said it was British.

Wow! That's a really nice find! I live in Connecticut and since I have been back, have not had time to hunt in the camping areas near the battle grounds. You just got me looking forward to summer.

It's raining cats and dogs today. God has decided to wash my cars for me and for that I am grateful. I wonder if He'll mow the lawn for me later.

I did a lot of research on the battle of Rhode Island using Google earth. I found three spots where battles took place. by finding that buckle I'm thinking it's virgin ground. the rain isn't helping. I'm dying to get back out there.

Good work on locating that site. Google Earth has helped me a lot too. It's a great resource but unfortunately really badly out of date.

Wow Nice find. Seems pretty much intact too. Your going to get us guys in CT cranked up for detecting season. Maybe this week if the rain stops like GD mentioned.

I'm in northeastern Oregon, and I'm waiting for the rains to stop, too!  And the wind to stop blowing!    Thumbs Down   Cry

Hi K,
Nice, nice , nice, and one more nice. I have "bits" of the same buckle type found here in Canada from the war of 1812, a complete one would be a bonus.....HH.....Johnnn
