Ive found a couple of rings in the past after a request from people , one was an engagement ring , the guy proposed to his girlfriend at the dinner table and she left the ring on the table when she cleaned off the table he flicked the tablecloth clean over the balcony and the ring went with it .  Next thing I got a call from the guy,  bring your metal detector urgent or he was  going to die a slow painfull death .  so I zipped over there and found it in about 20 mins in the long grass at night .  I think they started their honeymoon  that night . but I wasn't invited  lol

Good Job!,you may have saved some guy from major grief.
My wife is a teacher, and every time someone loses a ring or necklace on the football field, I get a call  Smiley.
I don't charge, but usually get a free meal out of the deal when I find the ring. I found one at the beach one time, took 2 months to find the owner (OUT OF TOWNER). Found out that the fellas dad had just passed away, and the ring had just been given to him just before his dad passed on. Felt really good to get it back to  him. I find more stuff than I know what to do with. If I can't find the owner, I have nieces and nephews and grandaughters who will wear them.

Hey Aussie,
I use a Minelab X-terra 50, if I get a signal that looks like a pull-tab (12-18-21) I dig it. Most of the time it is a tab, but sometimes.......
And most of the time when I am looking for something someone has lost they know the general area that it is in, so I only have to cover a small area.

Clint

Clint
Our $1 and $2 coins are alluminium/ bronze mix and they send the same signal as pulltabs so you can't discriminate pulltabs or you miss out on the coins as well . Gets a bit frustrating because you know you've got to dig everything .

Dang,
our biggest coin is a 1$, and it shows as a sliver dollar/half dollar every time.Alloyed coins must make it interesting  Huh?.. That would make me dig every signal I get (I do that now, but it's slow moving where the party crowds dump pull tabs.)
