Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505, Whites Coinmaster
« on: August 31, 2010, 09:12:46 am »
Go Up Go Down

I started out this May with an old Radio Shack model I had in storage for 10 years, The batteries needed replacing but it worked okay for digging up lots of clad and the occasional rings in local parks. My younger brother gave me his Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 in July and this helped quite a bit. Was able to get the deeper targets.

I was fortunate to find a couple of very decent spots and I have been working one of them exclusively fro the last 30 days (since the end of July) as it has produced some decent coins and misc. I have only found a couple pieces of gold there, one being gold-filled so it doesn't really count - but the small ring was dated as being made around the mid to late 1800's. I have mostly been digging the high pitched signals but plan on going back to hunt the low ones later this month. I'm still very much a newbie at this but I am starting to get the hang of it. (I also threw in a photo of a few of the rings and jewelry I found using my old RS detector - the three on the left are gold (14K) but the rest are silver. Found lots of junk rings and jewelry but nobody wants to see all that. LOL - I'm sure everyone here has BOXES of the stuff!)

Thought I'd share a couple pictures showing some of the finds from this site. Thanks for reading!!

craig j: Yes - I got all of this in one spot with the 505. It works well and I really liked the smaller "hockey puck" coil that came with it as it allowed me to search in tight spots - it was the reason I found the 1800's gold ring. The larger 10" coil I used to find the deeper coins (Buffalo and "V" nickels) - had to swing it very low and slow to get a good signal for those. All it takes is some research and patience. I got very lucky and found a spot that hadn't been detected yet. I've heard good things about the 1100 too.

Good luck Craig!

Thanks Foiled!

I didn't find much over the last couple days but it rained last night and when I went out for a quick hunt I managed to find a 1907 IH cent and another 1930's token.

Nice, I havent found any indian heads yet, or v & buffalo nickles, the oldest I found so far was a 1928 merc and a ww1 military uniform button lately all I found were wheats. Its too dry to hunt most places around here right now.Foiled

Hi Black,
You have some excellent finds there, I live in Canada along the border with the US so I find many of your coins here and recognise most of yours as good finds.
Keep posting........HH....Johnnn
