Well, I always have been saying My metal detector was trash and I was about to give up and Today found a 1856 coronet cent in a feild where an old house stood!  I just started to search there and I'm not anywhere done with the place.  I'll try to get a pic up if I can, it was in very good shape for being in the ground alone without being in something.  But after I went back my metal detector acted strange and would beep once on something and then would not pick it up, it would work better one time than the other.  Don't know whats wrong but What I found today was a very nice find for me!

Nice one Metal, 1856 coronet cent. Sounds like maybe there might be something loose on your detector? Patience and blind faith are good traits for treasure searchers. Fun to poke around, but finding something nice is beyond words. Smiley

yeah, tommorow I'm going to see whats wrong, it does seem alittle low on batteries thought. Its got two bars out of five left, maybe that might help if not I might see if something is loose.  That was a exciting day for me today, never expected to find something so old.  My mother and I thought I might find a indian cent just that old But a got something alot better.

Nice find!  If it is not too trashy, dig it all, some of my best finds were trash signals.  HH, Mike

Congratulations!

Make sure that your batteries are always well charged. Weak batteries are a commin cause for limited depth and false signals.
