Sweet. Too bad the Romans never made it to the new world. Sigh . . .

They say the Celtic people did. I'd like to find some of their lost loot.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Yeah they are tricky little devils to find, Machines like Tesoros/Lazers and Whites and XP and Fishers machines are about the best to use to find them, you need hot and fast VLF's to find them amongst the junk that's for sure,

So a Half Stater would be say 3 Grams ? Shocked

I don't get this concern of yours. The intrinsic value is nothing compared to the collectible value. By probably 100 to 1.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Well the 1/4 Stater I saw was found with a Tesoro Silver Sabre and that little machine could see it even if it was sitting on or under a Plough Blade, for such a low cost machine they can do some incredible tricks,
And of coarse when XP came out with the Goldmaxx Power I saw then that minelabs days were numbered because they were killing it on hammered and Celtic sites, Not good on the beach but they are like a Guided Missile On a Ploughed Field.

That coke rings like a bell, but you have to dig it most of the time unless you cheat and use a PI, I am waiting to give my big concentric coil a good work out on one of my roman fields, That is one serious coil and on tiny Nuggets of less than 0.06 grams it is very hot, and it can see coins at 2 or 3 feet.

The Goldmaxx Power has had such an impact that XP included its program in to the Deus and it can hit coins up to 17 inches deep using the 11" coil,
