Hi All,
Soooo glad to be able to get back to the hobby, and today was not too bad a day.
My detecting buddy got the edge on me this time with his beautiful US quarter and Victorian large penny.   I did however find a nice Canadian militia badge minus the crown 1860s type.
One weird item was a string of .303 bullet points in a canvas tube, there were a lot of these at this location but not wearing my glasses I thought they were old lead covered electrical cable,
even stranger they are all spent points I removed one from the covering and it has rifling clearly visible when I get time I must recover the rest.
Also the forever present horse shoe, and a bunch of coins some are wheaties.....HH....Johnnn

Thanks to all of you for your wishes and advice, I am not wearing knee pads yet as I found I could quite easily reach finds as they appeared, that may change if I find something small that requires kneeling....HH.....Johnnn

Hey, Johnnn, really glad to see you out and about in the field again.

You're right about the canvas wrapped .303 being weird.     Makes you wonder if they were meant to weigh down netting or something.   Doesn't seem to me like a weighted rope of spent bullets would make much of a weapon, so there has to be some other reason for it.

 BA
