Happy Hew Year all!  I have been busy with the holidays but was still getting out.  I received a nice thank you card from a guy who I helped find some keys last February06 in knee deep snow, keys were to a bank and I didn?t find the keys.  His parents found them after some of the snow melted off a week or so later.  The thank you card contained 25 Euros ($30.00), I assured him I wanted no payment and forgotten about it but?  Here is a picture of an old home built in the 1600s, had a moat around it as well.  A detecting friend knows the owner and received permission to detect, he met me at a field I was detecting New Years Eve and invited me along.  The best part about the hunt was just detecting an old home site.  The finds were not impressive between us.  I found a spoon, oval piece of metal, 1941 coin and a 1950 coin along with a lot of trash.  My friend found a tag with a local town name on it, a brooch, and a newer cross and a newer coin.  Still had a good time detecting this site.  Picture of the home site, the owner?s parents use the house as a summer home.

Part of the original wall that surrounded the house.

Combined finds from about 7 hours of detecting.  A few relics, pewter spoon, furniture d?cor, piece of lead with white patina, oval metal piece, a harness piece.
{alt}
A lead seal, 2 musket balls and a lead horse.
{alt}
A neat lead musician I found in two pieces, couldn?t find his head.
{alt}
Coins, two 1922 aluminum coins and two 1937 aluminum bronze coins.
{alt}
A few more coins, 1950, 1922, button, 1874, 1941 and a 1921.
{alt}
A few more relics.
{alt}
A nice little buckle dating from 1450-1650.  HH and I hope everyone has a treasure filled 2007, Mike
