Go Up Go Down

Hi everyone. Things finally thawed out enough here in Minnesota to try out my new Ace250. I started at a friends house and spent 2 hours, adjusting and digging up junk. I read books for months in advance, but the actual sweeping will take me a bit of adjusting. I found a lead wheel weight, a poptab, an old paint lid(?) a scrap of tin, some foil and a penny!
Across the street was an elementary school. Strolled over there an started sweeping around some trees near the entrance walkway. Now I was cooking! I found 5 pennies and a dime, in different spots. I continued on and another 2hours past. More junk plus the money. I called it a day and took some pictures to show you. Not too impressive, but fun. I'm writing this today(Sunday) and I had to take some Tylenol this morning as I was stiff all over!
Going to try closer to home today, the area where I thought I found a good signal for some items, but the ground was frozen. Now that I know what some of the tones are, I'm not so sure what's under the surface now!
Take care everyone and have fun!

Just keep on going! The more you detect the better you will get at rejecting junk / items you don't want. Please keep us posted!

Happy detecting,

Christian

Way to go for your first time out. I dug about the same things you did this last weekend, and I've been doing this a long time.  Crazy Remember, if you don't dig the foil and tabs you'll miss the gold.
Have fun!
Mike

Most Elem schools have been searched hard So Id say a very good first hunt.
Watch out for the kids they love to snatch your detector when you stop to dig targets,CAN I TRY?Huh?
As`a 35 year detectorist Iv,e faced dogs,snakes, hornets,bulls and children,May be why I became a relic Hunter.

Hello capnrich , you are now above the "newbie status" !!! Look under old trees and also under old wooden porches . Old neighbor hoods including old houses and old sidewalks . Slightly older than me should be perfect  Shocked  Just some suggestions , but it sounds like you are doing very well ......Soon it will be so hot outside , you'll wish it was raining !!!

Regards........ Waveing........Eugene52
