Hi my name is Kansas Boy and I was looking at your finds and would like you to look back on a post of mine about and object I found made out of brass. I found it in an area that was a part of fighting around Kennesaw Mt. in Ga.When I looked at this picture of the cannon balls and other finds it looked alot like one of your pieces.

I wonder if that's some kind of breech plug for an old cannon, what is it made of ??

With it being threaded I would look up breech plugs or assemblies for cannons on the interweb and see what u come up with.

If it is a Fuse , U need to find someone to take care of it , Do not do this on your own find an artillery specialist to Defuse it.
