This is a very nice old silver ring dating back to the 17th century. It is a ring used by a solider at that time to show his loyalitly towards his lord. Unfortunately it is a bit damaged as many finds from fields tend to be so we will need to get it fixed.

Are two hand clasped together on the bottom of the ring. Maybe sort of a friendship ring.  I found one with clasped hands I will scan and show.  Not as nice as yours though.

Dave,

please show us a picture of your ring. It could date back to the same periode of time. What is yours made of?

The ring is not stamped. I have been told that ring stamps have not occured before the 18th century. That way you can sometimes makes a guess to the age of the ring.

Currently a jewler is working on the ring to put it back in its original condition as it had unfortunately been hit by some farming machinery. I will post pictures of it when I get it back.
