Go Up Go Down

It was the perfect day to run across the street to the schoolyard to see what is left out there.
The detector I grabbed was my water PI that I built last year. Just installed a new circuit board last week.
Had to test it out....The only two coils I have made for is the 9.5 and 10.5" coils. It had the 9.5" coil on it, it's what
I hunted with.

Had some EMI issues out there for awhile, canceled most of it with the frequency control. Didn't take too long to
see the 9.5" coil is not for schoolyard use. Targets that sounded like they were at 5-6" deep with the 7" search coil were not to be found
digging a 8" deep hole. I dug so many of those holes just to see if some deep goody might surface. Nope. Was getting kind of frustrating.
Then cut back the gain to about 25% and dropped the threshold so I was just about running silent. Still didn't help with those deep targets.

Tried to concentrate to only dig the screamers, targets with the 7" coil that would have been within the first couple inches. Those screamers were still about 4" deep. Found a Loonie I could have swore was on top. Found it at about 5". Did manage to find some pennies, a nickel, a quarter, a key, two lighters, crazy deep pulltabs and a bunch of other junk. Oh of course "a ring". Just a silver plated copper ring. Better than a pot metal ring....

Think the water machine is going to remain the beach water machine. Way too deep with the larger coils for schoolyard park use.
