Ok guys, Im counting on your wisdom here! I was detecting near an old gold mine in riverside county, california when i dug this button. It is stamped 'chapman bury st edmunds'. I know its not a great picture but the best i could get on my macro setting. Ive googled it and found Bury St Edmunds is a city in England. I did find a listing of a "John Chapman, Bury St Edmunds," who was a "tailor". This mine was last operational in the 1860s, I believe. Any info or enlightment as far as dating or history would be highly appreciated. I dont care if it has any worth, it just looked very old to me, and I am fascinated by something thats been in the ground so long. Thanks in advance.
