Every time I see an old rural church I get the urge to hunt it. The worst problem is finding someone to ask permission. Unless you attend a church service you hardly ever see anyone around them. Nice finds though.

I used to be a Minelab dealer. I sell other brands now and I use other brands of detectors, but I always go back to my E-Trac. I use it at least 75% of the time. I usualy start a site with a Fisher F2 or F5 just to check it out, then when I get serious I get out my E-Trac. I wish I had another one for a backup. Mine is looking old and used.

Thanks
Todd

llanogold, how do you like the F2...is it a decent little detector? How about F5?

The F2 is by far the best turn on and go machine I have used to date. I have used bountyhunters, ace 150/250, whites prisums, minlab xterra 30 and a few others. If you look in the back seat of my truck right now you would see my E-Trac and an F2. For my soil conditions the F2 is set perfect, all I have to do is hit the power button and it works. The F2 has fast recovery, good TID and good tones. I have the small 4 inch coil on mine and it is a coin magnet. No Bells, No whistles, no thinking, just find coins. The F5 is all that and more its just more complicated. I use my F5 as a trainer for customers and as a loaner. The F5 has a lot of bells and whistles that more expensive detectors have at a good price, but when I need bells and whistles I mise well use all of them and go with my E-TRac. I think I will probably be getting another F5 because the guy I loaned it to has fallen in love with it.
Please dont get me wrong. The other machines I talked about are not bad, they all have their good points, they just dont work as well in my soil condition as the F2 has for me. Nor are they as simple to use as the F2 is to me.

Thanks
Todd

Awesome! Congrats on the old coins! I love that silver war nickel. Great finds. I'd hit that place hard. Might do even better around the perimeter. I'd run a two-box unit over that old well to see if there was anything deep and big. Cool Thanks for sharing. Happy Hunting! Smiley
