Hello Dave,

it looks to be made out of bronce. Iron would probably have been very rusted by now.

I like the celtic cross better because it seems to me to represent the armature of a motor very well!  But this is a very nice find are there any inscriptions?....i have some good books on byzantine.  I think the original founders of Rome found a technology cache and adopted the image of an antennae as their symbol and ancient way of execution!  behind every civilization is a technology cache or two.  Please review the miliaresia of byzantium from constantinople 820-976 AD, stark representations of antennae, and also the electronic symbology...this derived from what the arab found burrowing in the pyramids in late 600's which ultimately caused the crusades!  The technology is part of a vast horde held by the vatican and hitler is the only known modern person given access to this stuff....this is not information that is made readily available to the masses...b

Sometimes here in Ontario they find the "Cross of Lorent (?)   2 cross bars..these were carried by Priests that work with the Indians in the late 1500s to mid 1600s.

Funny and sad story..I parked my car on the shoulder of the road to hunt a village...found a few small damaged bits..2 week later I went back to find the shoulder had been graded..they graded up one of the crosses I mentioned...right where I had parked the car!!!!
